Data Analyst (QDI)

Lisboa ou Porto, Lisbon or Oporto · Information Technology

At Axians, we value talent, not labels.

We believe in a culture of inclusion, where everyone has a place and all applications are considered based on merit, without discrimination.

This is your opportunity to join an international group with a project that needs you to help meet the challenges of digital transformation.

 💻 THE ROLE

We are looking for a #TechTalent to work as a Data Analyst (QDI) for a national project.

🙂 YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Own analytical projects from data extraction to insight delivery: retrieve, clean, model and visualise complex datasets that answer front office questions.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions: work hand in hand with business sponsors to define KPIs, metrics and data requirements.
  • Maintain data quality & governance: partner with data engineers to validate sources, enforce lineage documentation and follow governance policies; set up KPI dashboards that flag missing/late feeds, out‑of‑range values or anomalies.
  • Automate & optimize: write efficient SQL, build performant Python Pandas pipelines and automate repetitive reporting tasks (scheduled extracts, API feeds, bot interactions).
  • Document & catalogue: keep an up‑to‑date repository of data sources, data models, KPI definitions, dashboard versions and lineage maps; maintain a living glossary that maps raw‑feed fields to business definitions and downstream KPI calculations.
  • Performance & cost monitoring of data assets:  track storage usage, query runtime, and dashboard load times; suggest optimizations or archiving strategies.
  • User enablement & training: run short “how‑to” sessions, create quick‑start guides, record video walkthroughs for business users to explore dashboards on their own.
  • Data‑product roadmap contribution: help define the roadmap for new data feeds, KPI dashboards, and self‑service tools based on business demand.
  • Develop production‑grade dashboards and reports (Tableau, Power BI, APIs) that become daily decision‑making tools for traders, sales and senior management.
💡 WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • SQL (advanced): Write efficient set‑based queries, build views, and optimize extracts for fast Tableau performance.
  • Python (Pandas): Clean, aggregate and shape before it lands into Tableau.
  • Data modeling / ETL: Design simple star/snow‑flake or dimensional schemas that support KPI dashboards; understand source → transform → load concepts (no deep‑pipeline engineering required).
  • Finance awareness: Strong interest or prior exposure to market‑data concepts. Ability to discuss these terms with traders/sales without needing a finance degree.
  • Cloud / Big‑Data: Experience with Snowflake, Azure Data Lake, Presto or PySpark is a plus.
